Tokyo Marathon 27 Demian Dalle
In 2025, my wife, Manuela, and I were in a car accident in Argentina. I broke five ribs, and Manuela was seriously injured and hospitalized. It was a very difficult time for both of us.
Returning to running became an important part of my recovery. I started with just one kilometre and gradually built up from there. Having something to work towards helped me regain my confidence and look ahead with a positive attitude.
We are still living with the physical and emotional consequences of the accident, some of which are permanent. But we keep moving forward, one step at a time. That’s part of why Tokyo means so much to me.
Being able to run it while supporting a good cause would make the experience even more meaningful. I also hope that my experience can encourage others to move forward with their goals even when the challenge is hard. Always keep fighting for your dreams.
