Over the years, we have developed strong partnerships with government agencies, individuals and conservation organizations. We work together to conserve important wildlife habitat, mitigate human-wildlife conflicts, and develop capacity through education, training,  mentoring, and support at all levels, from professionals and students, to local communities.

We work with three main partners, Fundacion Grupo Puntacana, Fundacion Propagas, and Zoodom, but also receive support from many others across Hispaniola and internationally.

Working Together to Conserve the Ridgway's Hawk

Fundación Grupo Puntacana

Between 2009 and 2017, we carried out our assisted dispersal program for Ridgway’s Hawk on Puntacana Resort and Club property. The Grupo Puntacana Foundation continues to support the project through in-kind donations, collaboration on educational activities and contribute important support for our Avian Ambassador Program. They have also provide both financial and technical support to retrofit dangerous power lines in the area.

Action Pour la Sauvegarde de l'Écologie en Haiti

In 2019, members of ACSEH rediscovered the Ridgway's Hawk in Les Cayemites, Haiti. Today, the ACSEH team continues to monitor the small population of hawks on the island, band young, and conduct important environmental education activities. They also help us translate educational materials into Haitian Creole for distribution both in Haiti and in Dominican Republic.

Club Med

We have been collaborating with Club Med in the Dominican Republic for several years now. They have provided both in-kind and financial support to help us conserve the Ridgway's Hawk in Hispaniola. Most recently, we have been working together to create workshops focused on birds of prey and the Ridgway's Hawk for their local and international staff, as well as for visitors from abroad. We hope to expand these efforts to involve local schools in the near future.
