Tara McHugh | Salt Lake City, Utah

My name is Tara McHugh and I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I started running my senior year of High School because I was so burnt out with soccer. Instead of joining the soccer team my senior year, I ran cross country and fell in love with it and the whole running community. The following summer, I ran my first half marathon and I have been addicted ever since. Running is basically my therapy and really kept my mental health in check during the pandemic. I have run 10Ks, lots of half marathons, multiple Ragnars, and two marathons. I love both road and trail running with my friends and crazy black lab-Monster.  I really picked up in my running in 2020 with accomplishing the goal of running 1000 miles for the year! I hit it in October (two months early) and have two new goals for 2021, which are running 1500 miles and running the TCS New York City Marathon. I am running this marathon not only to knock it off my bucket list but most importantly to raise money for The Peregrine Fund, which protects threatened and endangered birds of prey worldwide. My third goal for this year is to bring more awareness about this incredible organization and the work they do along with raising $5,000 during my training. I am very excited to be part of this and thank you for your support!

If you make a donation of $25 or more, I will map a run into the design of your choosing using my running map! I've been making these for friends and they are a super fun and a great way to give you something for adding more meaning to my miles. If you want a custom design, please add the design you want in the comments section below when you make your gift!

Help Tara reach her fundraising goal!
