World Center for Birds of Prey celebrates International Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 12

BOISE, Idaho –The Peregrine Fund’s World Center for Birds of Prey will celebrate International Migratory Bird Day with discounted admissions, guest speakers and special activities.

Driving directions: From I-84, take the Cole Road exit and continue 6 miles south on Cole Road to Flying Hawk Lane.

A family-friendly day filled with games, films, tours, and live bird presentations will focus on conserving birds that migrate between nesting habitats in North America and non-breeding grounds in Central America, the Caribbean, and South America.

Visitors will learn about the migration of Peregrine Falcons with a self-guided “story walk” on the new scenic, quarter-mile interpretive trail. Other activities include a program on the new American Kestrel Partnership, a slideshow on how people can help protect migrating birds, and special arts and crafts projects.

There will be live bird demonstrations and an array of interactive exhibits at the interpretive center throughout the day. Tours at the Archives of Falconry will feature art, sculpture, artifacts, and rare books related to falconry, including an authentic hunting tent and displays on falconry in the Middle East.
