Learn about the amazing migratory journey of raptors at The Peregrine Fund's celebration of International Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, 10 May, at the World Center for Birds of Prey, 5668 Flying Hawk Lane. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event will feature live raptor demonstrations and lectures on raptor migration patterns. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., kids of all ages can enjoy a "prey" toss, migration scavenger hunt, and an interactive and educational birds of prey game.

Times and topics for the talks are:
--11 a.m.: "Flyway Highways" focuses on Swainson's Hawks, Turkey Vultures, Ospreys, and other raptors that migrate as far away as Argentina before re-appearing in North America each spring to nest and rear their offspring.
--2 p.m.: "100 Years of Changing Attitudes: Humans & Raptors" illustrates changes in public attitudes about raptors and their place in the environment. Significant achievements, such as passage of The Migratory Bird Treaty Act and establishment of conservation groups such as The Peregrine Fund and Audubon Society, will be discussed.

Admission is $5 adults, $4 seniors and $3 youth (ages 4-16). There will be a 10 percent discount in the gift shop.
