During the present month of September, another Harpy Eagle has been released in La Amistad International Park in the province of Bocas del Toro, Panama. The first bird was released in June of this year in the same area.
This magnificent bird hatched under the care of Fondo Peregrino-Panama, at the Neotropical Raptor Center, in the City of Knowledge. At six months of age, and after fledging, she was first released in Soberania National Park where she was regularly monitored by center's biologists. This eagle began hunting by itself several months ago and was no longer dependent on human care.
