A Letter from The Peregrine Fund's President about COVID-19
Richard T. Watson, President of The Peregrine Fund

Dear Friends of The Peregrine Fund,

I am reaching out during this challenging time to offer my best wishes to you and your families as part of our global conservation community.

As a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of birds of prey around the world, our priority is the health and well-being of all those exceptional individuals and friends who make us who we are – a catalyst for change. I have no doubt that, like us, you will be working hard to protect your loved ones from the spread of COVID-19, whilst learning to live and operate in a different way.

The Peregrine Fund is taking the safety and security of our staff and volunteers very seriously. To that end, we have temporarily closed the World Center for Birds of Prey to visitors and postponed our 50th Anniversary events through 2020. I want to assure you that we are taking many positive steps to help combat this pandemic facing the world, including ensuring that our staff work from home and optimizing our fieldwork while adhering to social distancing guidelines. We remain vigilant and continue to follow the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines closely.

Over the past couple of weeks our teams have risen to the challenge to help you stay connected to our mission. Beginning next week we will roll out interactive, virtual experiences with our biologists in the field and educators at the World Center to keep you engaged and up to date on our people and programs. Consider this my personal invitation for you to participate!

We understand this is a time of financial uncertainty, but if you are able to support our field projects and educational programs at this time it would be of tremendous help to remain financially solvent over the coming months. You can also support us by participating in one of our engagement opportunities outlined in our bi-weekly Notes from the Field.

I wish you well - although we may be separated physically, we remain united as a community focused on our mission to ensure that birds of prey continue to thrive and soar, while investing in the next generation of conservation leaders.

Thank you to all our donors, friends and following for your support.

With hope and in conservation,
