BOISE, Idaho – Is winter giving your family a case of cabin fever? Grab the kids and head for The Peregrine Fund’s World Center for Birds of Prey for an affordable day of fun and educational programs focused on conserving birds of prey.

Family Field Trip Saturday will be held from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. on February 21. Visitors will see live bird demonstrations, tour the Archives of Falconry, participate in family-friendly crafts and activities, and enjoy spending time outdoors on the scenic interpretive trail.

Visitors ages 16 and under will be admitted free of charge. Regular admission rates will apply to adults. As always, members are admitted free.

Admission: $7 adults, $6 seniors, free to youth (16 and under) and members

Live bird presentations: 10:30 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m.

Archives of Falconry: Guided tours at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Driving directions: From I-84, south on Cole Road for 6 miles to Flying Hawk Lane

The Velma Morrison Interpretive Center features Interactive displays and films about eagles, hawks, falcons and other birds of prey. The outdoor Condor Cliffs display gives visitors a close-up look at a pair of endangered California Condors.

The Archives of Falconry contains art, sculpture, artifacts and rare books related to the ancient sport of falconry. The Arab Heritage Wing allows visitors to experience an authentic hunting tent and enjoy interactive displays on falconry in the Middle East.
