THE PEREGRINE FUND RECEIVES $3.1M COMMUNITY INVESTMENT GRANT CHAMPIONED BY REP. MIKE SIMPSON
Grant will improve workforce housing and safety infrastructure at the World Center for Birds of Prey

Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson championed $3.1 million to address much-needed workforce housing upgrades and road access improvements for Critically Endangered species recovery for California Condors at the World Center for Birds of Prey in Boise. This Community Investment Grant funding will be used to rebuild seven housing units, repair the access road, and purchase backup generators. Road repairs will improve emergency access to the center, ensuring the safety of more than 50,000 annual visitors and staff, while the housing improvements and generators will help support the California Condor Recovery Program.

“Species recovery like that of the California Condor requires partners and champions.  Congressman Simpson is a shining example of both. We are honored to receive this Community Investment Grant which will enable us to continue the vital propagation work locally while contributing to Condor conservation nationally,” said Chris N. Parish, President and CEO of The Peregrine Fund.
