BOISE, Idaho – A discounted family admission price and special children’s activities make The Peregrine Fund’s World Center for Birds of Prey a great spring break destination.

From Monday, March 28, through Friday, April 1, the daily admission price for families (2 adults, 4 children) will be $18. Children will enjoy a craft activity to take home and a scavenger hunt.

Each day, there also will be live bird demonstrations at 9:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m., and 4 p.m. Tours of the Archives of Falconry – featuring an authentic Arab hunting tent, artifacts, books, art and sculpture -- will be given at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Interactive displays and face-to-face encounters with live raptors at the interpretive center are informative and entertaining for both adults and kids. Outdoors, the new Condor Cliffs display allows unobstructed views of a pair of endangered California Condors in a cliff scene, complete with a cave-like nesting structure that mimics their natural habitat in remote areas like the Grand Canyon.

Visitors also can enjoy a new photo exhibit, “Arctic Wings: Miracle of Migration,” featuring 30 large-format color images of birds found in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, an ecosystem that is crucial to the survival of more than 190 bird species. A newly renovated viewing chamber for Gyrfalcons, with cliffs and a beautiful mural of the Arctic environment, is now on display.
