Monica Pittman

Curator of Birds

Beginning as a volunteer in 2009, Monica has been involved with a variety of Peregrine Fund projects. She was first employed as a hack site attendant in the Aplomado Falcon restoration project in New Mexico in 2011 and Texas in 2013. Monica has since served as Assistant Raptor Specialist, Raptor Specialist, Assistant Curator, and now Curator of Birds at the World Center for Birds of Prey. Since 2017 she has been responsible for the care and training of 26 birds of prey ranging from Kestrels and Screech Owls to Harpy, Bald, and Golden Eagles. Monica graduated from Boise State University with a B.Sc. in Biology and Zoology. She is a Master Falconer and has sponsored several apprentice falconers.
