BOISE, Idaho – The Peregrine Fund’s World Center for Birds of Prey will launch a new lecture series in January to highlight efforts to conserve rare and endangered birds of prey around the world.
The first talk in the Second Saturday Conservation Series will be held Saturday, January 10, on the Ridgway’s Hawk, a critically endangered raptor in the Dominican Republic. Project Coordinator Thomas Hayes will discuss the innovative work to move the hawks to safer habitat, the challenges facing the species, and education programs to raise awareness in local communities.
The 2015 schedule for the series is January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11, November 14, and December 12.
