World Center for Birds of Prey Open House

Free Admission will be offered to the Velma Morrison Interpretive Center from 9am to 5pm on Sunday, 9 October 2005 in conjunction with the annual open house. Activities include guided tours, presentations with live birds of prey, and special projects for children. A feature film on the majestic Harpy Eagle, one of the most powerful birds of prey with talons the size of a full-grown tiger, will show at 11am and 1pm. The Herrick Collections Building, boasting a world-renowned library, specimen collection, and falconry archives, will also be open to the public.

Volunteers and staff will host an information booth to discuss volunteering opportunities and education programs with interested individuals. Training is provided to all volunteers and no prior experience is necessary.

A 10% discount in the gift shop will also be offered to all visitors.
