Jessica Cate has lived in Boise since she moved here in 2005 after completing a B.S. in Biology at Valparaiso University in Indiana. In 2009 she began volunteering as a tour guide and gift shop ambassador at the Velma Morrison Interpretive Center. She continued to volunteer while working on her M.A. in Teaching from George Fox University. Shortly after graduation, she was hired as the Education Programs Coordinator at the VMIC. She enjoys her job, which allows her to communicate her dedication to wildlife conservation to the public. Her primary job duties include arranging field trips, communicating with area teachers, leading tours, working with volunteers, planning special event days for visitors, and expanding the VMIC’s use of social media.
When she is not working, Jessica enjoys spending time with her friends, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, photography, and relaxing with her dog and 3 cats.
