Special day and reduced admission set for homeschooled students to learn about birds of prey, September 11

BOISE, Idaho – The Peregrine Fund’s World Center for Birds of Prey is reserving a special day with reduced admission prices for homeschooled students on Thursday, September 11, to learn about conserving birds of prey.

Instruction will start at 10:30 a.m. Space is limited and reservations are required. Contact Education Coordinator Tate Mason at tmason@peregrinefund.org or (208) 362-8259.

“The Science of Bird Monitoring” will begin with a live bird demonstration, followed by small-group workshops on the importance and techniques of bird monitoring, a demonstration of trapping and banding birds, and the use of radio telemetry in tracking birds. Boise State University’s Intermountain Bird Observatory will assist with the banding workshop.

Participants will be admitted for $2 off the regular price. No other school groups will be scheduled for tours on that day.

Visitors not participating in a homeschool group will be charged regular admission: $7 general, $6 senior, $5 youth (4-16 years). Members are admitted free.

Homeschool groups are welcome at the visitor center any time at regular admission rates.
