From feeling how the barbules of a feather cling together, to dissecting an owl pellet, to planting native grasses, hands-on learning activities bring tangible education opportunities that reinforce the value of birds of prey and the ecosystems they rely on.

A sampling of available activities

  • Birds of Prey Analogies – This is a series of simple hands-on activities to help participants understand bird of prey adaptations.
  • Fabulous Feathers – In-depth exploration of something only birds have - feathers! Includes our popular feather activity.
  • Rainforest Bag Activity – Our mysterious rainforest bag has 20 some items that relate to tropical rain forests. The fun challenge of this activity is to determine how each item relates to a rainforest.
