Raptors live almost everywhere, from deserts to forests to urban skyscrapers. To enjoy them, all you need are your eyes and ears. A pair of binoculars and a field guide are recommended. Consider joining a birding or photography group in your area to learn the best locations and times to view birds of prey near your home.
Some species of birds of prey, such as kestrels and screech owls, will readily make use of nest boxes. You may be able to attract these birds to your yard by installing a nest box. If you live near water, you may be able to install a nest platform for ospreys.
